The Junior Matchplay championship was held at The Bishopbriggs Golf Club on Thursday 31st July.
Match report:
Another fine day on Friday the 1st of August at Bishopbriggs Golf Club saw the semi-finals and final matches of the Glasgow Golf Unions Junior Matchplay Championship take place.
The first morning game saw Cameron Burns of Glasgow Golf Club defeat Reece Coyle of Ralston Golf Club 3&2.
In the second match Max Welsh of Cathkin Braes Golf Club won by 1 hole against Scott Craig of Cawder Golf Club by virtue of a birdie on the 18th to ease into the final. All the competitors can be seen below prior to the semi-finals talking place.
The final produced some great golf by Cameron Burns, who maintained the form the showed in winning the Strokeplay Championship, by defeating a gallant Max Welsh convincingly in the final match to complete a rare double of winning both major Boys Championships in the same year.
All the games were played with a great spirit which was a credit to all of those involved.
