The competition attracted a very strong field of 114 players and we were fortunate to have warm and sunny weather all day.

Congratulations to Greg Andrews of East Kilbride GC who is the new West of Scotland champion golfer. Greg shot a fantastic scratch 67 to win the title by 2 strokes from second place Craig Hamilton of Ballochmyle GC who had a 69. In third place also on 69 was Jason Butler of Troon St Meddans GC, with two more Ayrshire players, Alan McLean of Largs GC in fourth place and John Shanks of Irvine GC in fifth place.

Handicap
The Net medal competition winner was John Robertson of Largs GC who had a 68, with second place going to Ciaran Byrne of Ballochmyle GC who had a 69.

3 player team
The winners of the 3 player team event were the Largs GC trio of Alan McLean, Euan Lindsay and Cameron Aitken with an aggregate score of 211.

Many thanks to all the players who supported the event, and to the staff and committee at Sandyhills Golf Club for providing courtesy of the course. The feedback from the players on the playing conditions was very positive, so a big vote of thanks also to the greens staff.
