GGU Annual Dinner 2010
The Glasgow Golf Union Annual Dinner will be held at Ralston Golf Club on Friday 5th March 2010. Ralston have hosted the event on several occasions and with their abundance of space within their various lounges, friendly staff and excellent food we are confident that the 2010 dinner will surpass all previous events.
In addition to the prize giving and the annual raffle for the benefit of junior golf, a special presentation will be made to the Captain of Haggs Castle Golf Club to mark their centenary year.
We have two fabulous speakers arranged for the evening. The first being a well known face in Past President of the Glasgow Golf Union, Gregor Cameron. Gregor has entertained us before at our annual dinner and I'm sure everybody who has heard Gregor will enjoy his clever and entertaining toast to the Glasgow Golf Union.
The main speaker for the evening is none other than Eric Davidson one of the most sought after after-dinner speakers in the country --at least according to H M Revenue and Customs, who have been seeking him for some time! For those of you who have had the pleasure of hearing Eric before I'm sure you will be already looking forward to hearing him again. For those who have not yet had the pleasure you are in for a treat and I am certain you will leave the dinner singing his praises.
We want to make this a particularly memorable evening for all the right reasons and hope that all of the clubs will support the function and take up their full allocation of tickets to add to the atmosphere of the evening.
While it has been difficult to control costs we are conscious that we are in a recession and the ticket price will be maintained at last years price of £21 per head. This is great value for money and we know Ralston Golf Club always have very competitive pricing in respect of both wine and bottles of spirit for your table. If it suits your party we can arrange to have your order for drinks placed on your table for your arrival although it may be necessary to have payment in advance for this facility.
Finally for the first time we are offering a unique opportunity to any individual or company to sponsor the event. The sponsor's name will appear on all printed material for the dinner and the company and/or individual will receive a special mention on the evening as well as on our website.
The sponsors will be provided with a table for six to include dinner and wines (more if they so wish at an additional cost) at an agreed price and they together with their guests will receive a special invite from the President of the Glasgow Golf Union to join him and the other VIP's for pre dinner drinks in the Ralston VIP lounge.
