Scottish Victory thanks to Glasgow Junior
Shaun Connor from Ralston holed a 10 foot putt on the last green in his final singles match to win by 1 hole and clinch victory for Scotland in the Under 16 boy’s quadrangular matches at the Jack Nicklaus designed Machynys Golf and Country Club, South Wales. Shaun won 4 points out of a possible 6 in the matches against Wales, Ireland and Holland. The format included foursomes and singles spread over three days. The standard of the golf between the four countries was very high with Shaun scoring 4 under par in his final singles match to beat his opponent from Holland.
The final International table was as follows;
- Scotland, 22 points
- Ireland, 21.5 points
- Wales, 18 points
- Holland, 10.5 points
