Spring Meeting
36 hole scratch strokeplay competition. Entry limited to players with a handicap of 6 or less, whose 'home club' is affiliated to Glasgow Golf Union. Ties after 36 holes to be decided on basis of second round scores, thereafter inward half of second round, last 6 holes etc.
Matchplay Championship
15 leading players in the Spring Meeting plus previous year's Matchplay Champion entered in a 'cold draw'. All games to be decided over 18 holes or by sudden death thereafter.
Seniors' Championship
18 holes strokeplay competition. Entry limited to players aged 55 years or over. Ties for the winner of the Scratch section to be decided by 18 hole play-off. Handicap winners to be decided on 'countback' using net scores over inward half, last 6 holes, last 3 holes, etc.
Summer Meeting
18 holes strokeplay competition. Entry limited to players with handicaps in the range 7 to 18, who are members of Clubs affiliated to the Union. In the event of a tie after 18 holes, placings to be decided by 'countback' using net scores over inward half, last 6 holes, last 3 holes, etc.
Strokeplay Championship
36 holes scratch strokeplay competition. Entry limited to players with a handicap of 6 or less, whose 'home club' is affiliated to Glasgow Golf Union. In the event of a tie after 36 holes, the championship will be decided by a play-off over 18 holes at a later date. Ties for other places will be decided on the basis of second round scores, thereafter on 'countback' over the last 9 holes, last 6 holes, etc.
Club Team Championship
Run in conjunction with the Strokeplay Championship, teams to consist of 3 nominated players from clubs affiliated to the Glasgow Golf Union. The two best 36 hole aggregates from each team to count towards the team score. In the event of a tie, the better second round aggregate of the two counting scores to decide the winners.
Boys' Strokeplay Championship
36 holes strokeplay competition. Entry limited to players whose 'home club' is affiliated to Glasgow Golf Union and are at least 12 and no more than 18 years of age on 31 December of the preceding year. In the event of a tie after 36 holes, the scratch championship trophy will be held jointly. Ties for other places will be decided on the basis of second round scores, thereafter on 'countback' over the last 9 holes, last 6 holes, etc. In the handicap sections, placings will be decided on second round net scores, thereafter on 'countback' over last 9 holes, last 6 holes, etc.
Boys' Matchplay Championship
The 15 players with the lowest aggregates from the Strokeplay Competition along with the defending champion, if eligible, will be entered in a 'cold draw'. All games to be decided over 18 holes or by sudden death thereafter.
Glasgow Open Championship
36 holes scratch strokeplay competition. Entry limited to players having a handicap of 4 or less. In the event of a tie for first place the championship will be decided by a play-off over 18 holes at a later date. Ties for other places will be decided on basis of second round scores, thereafter by 'countback' over last 9 holes, last 6 holes, etc.
Open Youths' Championship
36 hole scratch strokeplay competition limited to boys having a handicap of 6 or less and are at least 16 but not more than 21 years of age on 31 December in the preceding year. Ties after 36 holes to be decided on basis of second round scores, thereafter inward half of second round, last 6 holes, etc.
Youths' Area Team Championship
36 hole scratch strokeplay competition, played in conjunction with the Open Youths' competition with the same handicap and age limits. Open to teams of 3 players representing Areas within the Scottish Golf Union and the North of England, the lowest four round aggregate scratch scores (best two morning and best two afternoon rounds) counting for each team. In the event of a tie, the best single final round, the best two final rounds, etc, of each team to decide the winners.
